How to choose a private catamaran from Cancun to Isla Mujeres

A private charter means the boat is exclusive to your group and the route can be adapted within the booked time and sea conditions. Before booking, compare the following points.

1. Define your actual group size

Confirm how many guests the base rate includes, the price for each additional guest and the authorized capacity. At Chan Paradise Sailing, ANTARES 52 includes up to 10 guests in the base rate and is authorized for up to 40 passengers.

2. Choose between 4 or 6 hours

Four hours works well for a private outing focused on one or two priorities. Six hours gives more flexibility to combine activities at a relaxed pace. The route must always consider navigation time and the captain’s safety decisions.

3. Ask for the complete price breakdown

In addition to the charter, review VAT, dock fees, National Park fees and transportation. Our calculator provides an estimate before the conversation starts, and the final total is confirmed in writing.

4. Confirm what can be personalized

Ask about El Farito snorkeling, Playa Norte or a stop ashore in Isla Mujeres. Either the 4-hour or 6-hour charter may include an Isla Mujeres stop at the guest’s request, depending on the requested route.

5. Review safety and cancellation terms

Before paying, review life jackets, crew, insurance, permits and the cancellation policy: a 100% deposit refund with at least 10 days’ notice; 50% of the deposit is forfeited 2–9 days before departure; cancellations within 48 hours or no-shows are non-refundable. If the Harbor Master closes the port due to adverse weather, a full refund or free rescheduling applies.
